confeti: presente perfecto

Este título enmarca una serie de acciones que se derivan de la utilización de confeti. Propongo este material como símbolo que marca un punto de inflexión cuando se usa: en el momento que gritas “¡Sorpresa!” O cuando celebramos el año nuevo entre otros. Genera un cambio, un “ya no es lo que era antes” (antes no sabías que había treinta y cinco personas escondidas en tu salón para celebrar tu cumpleaños y ahora sí). Otros materiales han sustituido al confeti a través de los años como el arroz al salir de la iglesia, pero la función sigue siendo la misma: generar un punto de inflexión soltero-casado.
Podemos decir que el confeti es P-R-E-S-E-N-T-E en mayúsculas. Ese presente que queda plasmado en las fotografías para toda la vida.
Tiene una serie de características físicas que enriquecen y favorecen la asimilación y aceptación de este símbolo. Son coloridos, blandos, no tienen aristas punzantes y son muy ligeros. Otra cosa importante es que son pequeños y numerosos de tal manera que pueden llenar un espacio, pueden convertirse en la atmósfera por un momento. Todo ello permite que el disfrute sea máximo. Que no puedas no impregnarte de ese espíritu.
Por el hecho de ser tan P-R-E-S-E-N-T-E tienen una vida muy corta. Creo que estos papeles ni siquiera tienen que llegar al suelo para morir. Perecen en cuanto son percibidos, en cuanto hacen su función No hay ni que decir que este material, prácticamente imprescindible en algunos momentos, se convierte inservible en cuanto toca el suelo y, posteriormente, extremamente irritante cuando entra en contacto con líquidos.
Personalmente me parece un material que simboliza enormemente el aquí y ahora, el vivir el presente que nos recomienda el nuevo y famoso gurú espiritual Echhart Tolle con su libro “El poder del ahora”.
Y lanzo una pregunta al aire: ¿Y si lo congelamos?¿Y si paramos ese momento y lo analizamos desde múltiples ángulos, lo observamos y lo desmenuzamos, buscando patrones de comportamiento, curvas de velocidad y modelos físicos que representen ese presente? Pues creo que Eckhar Tolle estaría totalmente indignado con nuestra manera de querer entender el presente... Pero ¡Qué diablos! Si seguro que se ha puesto bottox! ¡Por dios! ¿Es acaso eso menos condenable? ¿No intenta todo el mundo congelar los momentos que considera perfectos? ¿Alargar los orgasmos mediante el sexo tántrico, mantener una juventud (normalmente ya perdida) o una sonrisa fresca durante cincuenta segundos hasta que salta el auto-disparador? Confeti: Presente Perfecto #3

This title frames a series of actions consequence of using confetti. I propose this material as a symbol that really shows the inflexion point in perception when it is used: the moment you scream ¡Surprise! Or when we celebrate new years eve among others. It makes the difference, it makes a “It is not what is was before” (before you didn't know there were thirty people hidden in your living room to celebrate your birthday and now you do). Other materials have been used with the same aim as the raw rice in weddings (before you were single and now you are not).
Then, we can say that confetti is P-R-E-S-E-N-T in capital letters. That kind of present that achieves immortality in the photographs forever.
It has some features that really help to the assumption of this symbol. It is formed by dozens of colorful, soft and light small pieces of paper. In this way it can fill the space and invade the atmosphere very quickly. Because of all this, confetti really gets into you physically and emotionally.
A consequence of being such a P-R-E-S-E-N-T thing is that its life is really short. I think those little pieces of paper don't even have to touch the floor to die. It seems that as soon as they are perceived, as soon as the messenger gives the message, it is over. We don't even have to say how annoying it becomes as soon as it gets the floor and mixes with liquids and other common elements found on the party floor.
Personally, I think it is a material that symbolizes and illustrates the here and now. The “live the present” that is recommended by this new and famous spiritual guru Echhart Tolle in his book “The power of now”.
But, what if...we freeze it!? What if we stop that moment and analyze it from multiple angles? And observe it looking for performance patterns! Speed curves! Physics models that represent it! Well...I think Eckhart Tolle would totally disagree with our way of trying to understand the present. But what the hell! I am sure he is doing bottox! Oh gosh.. Is it less reprehensible? Doesn't everybody try to freeze those moments considered perfect? Trying to extend orgasms throughout tantric sex, keeping the youth (usually lost already) or holding a smile for fifty seconds until the timer shoots the pic, these are the day by day of our present, past and future.
That is why I want to study confetti, analyze it from multiple points of view using as many tools as I can. It doesn't really offer any functional information but, as David Armengol says talking about Fermin Jimenez Landa works, “[the trap and the fiction] is an invalid resource in science but highly seductive in art”
